Design careers at Osedea: A look inside our Product Design Team
The path to a career in design isn’t always linear, and that’s something we embrace fully at Osedea. Our design team is made up of individuals who’ve arrived here from diverse fields. Some come from visual arts or branding, others from industrial design. What brings us together is a shared commitment to craft and solving complex challenges through thoughtful design.
We spoke with members of our team to better understand what drew them to Osedea, what they value most in their work, and what makes this environment unique. Across the stories, four themes emerged.
1. Autonomy and ownership from day one
From the first conversations with clients to the final iteration of a product, designers here are trusted to take full ownership of their work. That means leading workshops, shaping strategy, doing research, designing interfaces, presenting outcomes, and adapting along the way.
“For me, it’s incredibly rewarding to feel like your vision for what the product can be is what comes to life,” says Robbie, whose background spans branding, fintech, and SaaS. “We get a lot of creative and strategic control. It’s about driving impact.”
This sense of ownership also applies to how designers manage their growth. Alexia, who joined Osedea after several years in graphic design, e-commerce, and UI, highlights the freedom to evolve as a key part of her experience. “We’re encouraged to explore, test new tools, and even rethink our own process,” she says. “I can share what worked and what didn’t without fear of judgment. That kind of environment gives you space to grow.”
“I get to follow a product from initial scoping all the way to the final screen,” says Louise, who joined Osedea in 2021 after working in both France and Canada. “That’s rare, and it makes the process feel meaningful from start to finish.”
2. A team culture that sharpens you
Design at Osedea is collaborative by nature. While each person leads their own projects, no one works in isolation. The team regularly shares learnings, gives feedback, and leans on one another to push ideas further.
“We question, test, and explore. Not to prove a point, but because we care deeply about the quality of the work,” says PJ, who draws on her background in hospitality, international experience, and user research. “It’s a place where rigour and generosity go hand in hand.”
Shereen, who joined Osedea after design work in Denmark and Montreal, adds, “We’re a team that supports one another. Not just with the project at hand, but with the way we present, document, and grow. The wins are shared, and so are the lessons.”
For Louise, it’s this environment of mutual challenge and inspiration that drives her forward. “I get to work with other passionate designers who push me to improve and help me grow every day.”
That collaborative spirit extends beyond the design team too. Designers are in constant dialogue with developers, sales, and clients, making space for different perspectives to shape the work.
3. A wide range of projects, with real complexity
Many design teams promise variety. At Osedea, it’s part of the everyday.
“I’ve worked on projects in real estate, finance, the film industry, mining, aviation, and even veterinary software,” says Shereen. “It pushes you to constantly adapt to new domains and users.”
For PJ, the diversity of projects is matched by the depth of thinking they require. “Even on the most technical mandates, we’re always asking how to simplify, clarify, and make things more accessible.”
Brittney agrees. Her experience ranges from e-commerce to robotics and now spans healthcare, manufacturing, and mining. “A lot of the products we design are built around emerging technologies. That keeps the work fresh and forces you to think critically. We’re not solving yesterday’s problems. We’re often imagining what’s next.”
4. Design advocacy is part of the job
Our design team doesn't work in the background. They lead conversations, ask the hard questions, and help clients and colleagues understand the thinking behind the design.
“There’s a big emphasis on design advocacy,” says Brittney. “We educate our clients and teammates on the value of what we do. That space to influence outcomes, not just deliver assets, is something I really value.”
This mindset is especially powerful in client workshops and early discovery phases. Designers are often the first to meet clients, build trust, and guide the project forward.
As Robbie puts it, “We’re not just solving for aesthetics. We’re helping our clients think differently. That starts with strong relationships and clear communication.”
Louise echoes that sentiment. “We’re building a culture at Osedea that truly values design. We speak up, we’re heard, and we collaborate as equals with developers and other experts across the company.”
Designing your own path
What binds our design team isn’t a single background or specialty. It’s a shared mindset: curiosity, care, and the drive to build meaningful products. We work closely and bring ideas to life in ways that are thoughtful and lasting.
If you’re a designer who thrives on ownership, values collaboration, and wants to grow through real-world complexity, we’d love to meet you.
