Small actions, big impact: Our year of giving back

One of our core values is Simply put, we care. Over the years, we’ve brought this to life in different ways: running a programming and design school to help reduce high-school dropout rates, contributing to open-source-for-good projects, fundraising, and supporting local charities.

Last year, we asked ourselves how we could go further. How could we make it easier for our team to contribute, while making the impact bigger? That question led to an initiative that blended engagement and philanthropy. You can read more about it here.

This year, we pushed the idea even further.

Introducing: Simply put, we give back 

We create initiatives that support people financially, personally and professionally. Not everything is for everyone, and that’s okay. This one was about maximizing value for people that want to give back to our community. 

Whether through donations, volunteering, or fundraising, the goal is the same: help our team support organizations that make a real difference. Research even shows that giving back contributes to a happier life. For us, it also aligns with our commitment to amplifying our impact in the community.

What’s included in Simply put, we give back

• Team members can donate to La Fondation Véro & Louis or Le Refuge des Jeunes through payroll giving, and Osedea matches every dollar contributed.
• We organize volunteer opportunities with our partner charities. For every hour volunteered, Osedea donates 30$ to the organization.
• Some colleagues choose to join or lead crowdfunding events. Osedea contributes 500$ to our partner charities and 100$ toward the team member’s initiative. This year we crowdfunded for the 80K race for La Fondation Véro et Louis. 
• We remain open to new ideas, inviting our team to propose other meaningful ways to give back.

Our results in 2025

Our team raised 25,000$ and volunteered 170 hours for Le Refuge and La Fondation Véro & Louis. Close to 80% of our team participated in volunteering and/or donating.

A few highlights:

• Supporting the 80K race for La Fondation Véro & Louis
• A major volunteer week for Le Refuge des Jeunes, where 25 team members cooked and served over 250 meals for youth experiencing homelessness, giving Le Refuge’s staff and volunteers a much-needed break.
• Over 8,000$ donated through payroll deductions, which Osedea doubled. 

We feel lucky and privileged to be part of the Osedea journey, and we believe that sharing our success with our community is part of that responsibility.

What’s next?

We’re continuing the initiative in 2026, aiming to broaden our impact through even more donations and volunteer hours.
